Ideal Client Profile (ICP)

An ideal customer profile - or ICP - is very much a B2B sort of template. It's a way to zoom in on the organisations/businesses most likely to become your customers or users.

It helps the marketing team recognise who it is they need to attract and helps the sales team in their search for the best contact information, outreach method and how to make the most out of initial meetings.

It is similar but not quite the same as a buyer/user persona which is used to put an individual face on the customer cohorts B2B or B2C marketing teams are looking to engage.
